Defendant was facing a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, if convicted of the charges of first degree kidnapping and murder. Ms. Connolly secured a plea to one count of voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon and a sentence of a minimum of 8 years in prison.
