Defendant was facing a sentence of life in prison without the possibility of parole, if convicted of the charges of first degree kidnapping and murder. Ms. Connolly secured a plea to one count of voluntary manslaughter with a deadly weapon and a sentence of a minimum of 8 years in prison.

Defendant pled guilty to federal drug trafficking offense and was facing a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years. As a result of Ms. Connolly's efforts, the judge sentenced her to 36 months.
